Today's New York Times In Performance video features features a scene from Duncan Macmillan's highly acclaimed new play, "Every Brilliant Thing," starring the British comic Jonny Donahoe as a son who creates a huge list of reasons why his depressed and suicidal mother should not end her life. The North American premiere of Every Brilliant Thing opened December 14, 2014 at 7:30PM at Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street) and runs throught March 29th.

Featuring Jonny Donahoe and directed by George Perrin, the Paines Plough and Pentabus Theatre Company production of Every Brilliant Thing comes to New York fresh off its smash hit, much-raved-over engagements in London and Edinburgh, as well as a UK tour.

In Every Brilliant Thing, a young boy attempts to ease his mother's depression by creating a list of all the best things in the world. Everything worth living for. The Paines Plough and Pentabus Theatre Company production of Every Brilliant Thing is presented Off-Broadway byScott Morfee, Jean Doumanian, Tom Wirtshafter, and Patrick Daly.
