Improvised Shakespeare Performs At Theatre 80 On St. Marks 1/8-11

The Improvised Shakespeare Company, created and directed by Blaine Swen, features Ross Bryant, Brendan Dowling, Greg Hess, Thomas Middleditch, and Blaine Swen. Based on one audience suggestion (a title for a play that has yet to be written) The Improvised Shakespeare Company creates a fully improvised play in Elizabethan style. Nothing is planned-out, rehearsed, or written. Each play is completely improvised, so each play is entirely new.

The Improvised Shakespeare Company has been performing its critically-acclaimed show every Friday night at the world famous iO Theater for over four years and continues to entertain audiences around the globe with its touring company. The ISC has been featured at the Piccolo Spoleto Fringe Festival, the Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival, and the prestigious Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. It has been named Chicago's best improv group by both the Chicago Reader and the Chicago Examiner and has received a New York Nightlife Award for "Best Comedic Performance by a Group". The ISC was recently honored by the Chicago Improv Foundation as its "Ensemble of the Year".

The Improvised Shakespeare Company will perform at Theatre 80 on St. Marks at 80 St. Marks Place (aka 8th Street) at 1st Ave Saturday, January 8th at 10:30PM, Sunday, January 9th at 8PM, Monday, January 10th at 8PM, and Tuesday, January 11th at 8PM (with special guest Reggie Watts).
