Big, Rich & Powerful, the Improvisational Repertory Theatre Ensemble's stylized show centering on a supremely wealthy (and powerful) family is an homage to late-night soaps like Dynasty; Dallas; Blood & Oil; Dirty, Sexy Money; etc.

But here's the twist ... the audience will create the lusty tale!

Every night will be different - like TV episodes. Had a good time? Tune in tomorrow!

IRTE takes the best of Improv and mixes it with traditional theatre production to create a new form of entertainment. A polished play drenched in the shock and anything-can-happen excitement of Improv. The audience will choose the family's wealth (oil, media, stocks, computers, music, bacon, post-it notes... whatever!) at the start of the show. Then the over-the-top characters will develop, crises will grow, plot twists will just sort-a happen, and ... let the games begin!

IRTE: The Improvisational Repertory Theatre Ensemble shows us what it means to be
BIG, RICH & POWERFUL conceived & directed by Robert Baumgardner

FRIDAYS & SATURDAYS, March 18, 19, 25 & 26, 8:00pm, Tickets $12 (Group Discounts available) ?

The Producers Club, 358 West 44th Street, NYC, www.irteinfo.com

Celebrating its fifth season, the award-winning group of trained actors work to develop, produce and perform a full season of original themed, theatrically-staged, and character-driven comedy shows based in improvisation and following the basic model of seasonal repertory theatre. IRTE has won praise for elevating the art of improvisational theatre while opening it up to a broader audience of theatergoers. Adding simple costumes, props, and strong characters and you get a very theatrical, raw, ridiculous and irreverent, narrative-driven and completely improvised show that has made a powerful impact around the country. IRTE's style is also taught at numerous lectures and classes around the tri-state area.

As with all IRTE shows, Big, Rich & Powerful will also include a musical guest, connecting the theatre-going public, not only to this new form of Improv but to up & coming indie music talents. Most recently, IRTE performed at the Theatre for the New City's Dream Up Festival, three season of the Del Close Marathon, Philadelphia Improv Festival, Boston Comedy Arts Festival, NYC Improv Festival, two seasons of the Unscripted New York Improvised Theatre and Film Festival, Tampa Improv Festival, New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival, and Portland Improv Festival. They enjoyed a residency at Gotham City Improv, and were honored with the 2014 Supreme Honorary Improvised Theater & Film Award for Outstanding Genre Performance by Unscripted New York. They were named one of the "Seven Must-See Shows" of the 2014 Boston Comedy Arts Festival. The 2016 company includes Nannette Deasy (founder/artistic director), Robert Baumgardner, Evie Aronson, Bill Berg, Brianna Lee, Sam Katz, Curt Dixon, and Jamie Maloney
