Chicago's wildly popular improv artists, the Second City veterans TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi, return to New York for three special holiday shows at their New York home, The Barrow Street Theatre. This holiday gift consists of three late-night shows, Friday thru Sunday December 14 to 16.
TJ & Dave performs Friday & Saturday December 14 &15 at 10PM, and Sunday December 16 at 9PM. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased in advance via Telecharge – by phone at (212) 239-6200, or online at www.telecharge.com, or at The Barrow Street Theatre box office, 27 Barrow Street (corner of Bleecker and 7th Avenue).
"If you haven't yet witnessed their mind-blowing technique, then now is the time. With uncanny mental and emotional dexterity, these Wright Brothers of the unwritten create full-length plays without the complicity of pen and paper or suggestions from the audience. Never before have their loyal fans seen them recycle stories or characters. Every show is entirely fresh, original and unexpected, with highly nuanced scenarios, multiple characters and deeply moving outcomes," explain press notes, "The eponymous TJ & Dave shows began at Chicago's ImprovOlympic where they played once-a-week, every week, for more than four years. As their reputation grew, they began playing the more script-centric New York theatre scene (which in some corners is strikingly improv-averse compared to Chicaog). From September 2006 through June 2007 producers Scott Morfee and Tom Wirtshafter treated in-the-know New York audiences to 3-to-4 show special engagements that fell on the first week of the month. TJ & Dave will be announcing a similar schedule for 2008 in the coming weeks," explain press notes.
TJ & Dave were named the 2006 Improvisers of the Year at The Chicago Improv Festival, and they received their second consecutive New York Nightlife Award (for unique comedy) in January.
