Training in Improvisation teaches focus, self-confidence, communications skills (public speaking, one on one conversation skills, listening, eye contact), teamwork, leadership and creative writing. Major Corporations hire these teachers to remind their top execs and teams the importance of good communication and teamwork. IMPROV 4 KIDS hopes to impart this wisdom on youth before entering the work force. Plus, developing these skills at an early age helps students better learn in all disciplines.
Future stars all should be learning Improv as it is one of the most desired skills with today's casting directors for entry level jobs in TV and Commercials. These days, many casting directors will forego agents and managers these coveted jobs and contact the Improv companies directly for talent to audition. The Improv performer is able to create a character performance ready on the spot with out rehearsal time that is no longer available to directors. Current and former actors of EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH are showing up all over TV, Film, Web and Commercials.
This class will be taught by EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH co-founder and artistic director, Walt Frasier. As Improv performer, MC and/or pianist Mr. Fraiser has performed over 3000 shows with EIGHT IS NEVER ENOUGH, IMRPOV 4 KIDS, LMAO Off Broadway and other productions since 2002. Mr Frasier is currently serving as Director of Instruction for the Comedy Hall of Fame Foundation, offering accredited comedy classes in New York City high schools as well as training and managing future teachers for the program. Previous credits include appearance on Letterman, MTV, VH1, NICK, WE and dozens of theater productions off-Broadway, touring and regional theater.
