The night will benefit the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention www.afsp.org

Ilene Kristen (www.ilenekristen.net ) is perhaps best known for playing Delia Reid Ryan Ryan Coleridge Crane Coleridge on the daytime drama Ryan's Hope, a role which she originated in the show's first episode in 1975 and played on and off until the show's end in 1989. She has appeared on the daytime dramas Loving and Another World as well.

Currently, Ilene can be seen in her Emmy-nominated role as Roxy, the drunken mother from hell, on One Life to Live. She also performs her original music regularly in the New York City cabaret scene.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, a 501(c)(3) organization, has been at the forefront of a wide range of suicide prevention initiatives in 2009 -- each designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. Investing in groundbreaking research, new educational campaigns, innovative demonstration projects and critical policy work, AFSP is expanding their assistance to people whose lives have been affected by suicide, reaching out to offer support and offering opportunities to become involved in prevention.

With a suicide attempt estimated to occur every minute of every day in the United States and over 32,000 lives lost each year, the importance of AFSP's mission has never been greater, nor our work more urgent.

The event is being presented by Damon L. Jacobs and Roger Newcomb from the daytime fan site, We Love Soaps (www.welovesoaps.com) as well as by the creators of the off Broadway smash hit, WHEN JOEY MARRIED BOBBY now playing at the Roy Arias Theatre (www.whenjoeymarriedbobby.com for tickets and showtimes).

The event is sponsored by NEXT Magazine (www.nextmagazine.com), Steel Gym (www.steelgym.com) and the James Corbett Studio (www.jamescorbettstudio.com) .

A special auction prize, a script from ABC's General Hospital, will be auctioned off (from the private collection of Will Clark). Plus, tickets will be auctioned off to THE TEMPERAMENTALS (www.thetemperamentals.com) and Leslie Jordan, MY TRIP DOWN THE PINK CARPET (www.mytripdownthepinkcarpet.com) courtesy of Hugh Hysell Communications.
