Tony Award winner Idina Menzel will return to GLEE for a season three arc, as previously reported by BroadwayWorld. Menzel could appear in up to 12 episodes throughout the season. A consequence of her return, however, is that part of her current concert tour will be postponed. She writes on her website: "Friends, as many of you know I am extremely excited about returning to Glee, yet it comes with one drawback, which is that due to my filming schedule I will have to cancel a majority of my upcoming November tour dates, which I am so disappointed about. I hope you can understand. I was truly looking forward to seeing all of you and will do my best to make it up to you as soon as I can. Lots of love, Idina."

Menzel's November line-up was as follows:

03 Nov '11 Philadelphia, PA The Academy of Music
05 Nov '11 Brookville, NY The Tilles Center
06 Nov '11 Washington, DC The Kennedy Center
08 Nov '11 Wilkes-Barre, PA F.M. Kirby Center (ON SALE NOW!)
11 Nov '11 Lincoln, NE Lied Center for Performing Arts
15 Nov '11 Madison, WI Overture Center for the Arts
16 Nov '11 Omaha, NE Holland Performing Arts Center

Menzel will reprise her role as Rachel Berry's biological mother, Shelby Corcoran. She originated the role in GLEE's first season and appeared on five episodes. "I'm really excited that Idina is joining the family again," said GLEE co-creator Ryan Murphy. "We missed her last year and we're happy that she is coming back."
