Idina Menzel Adds Additional NY Show to 2010 National Tour, 10/2

Broadway, and soon-to-be GLEE star Idina Menzel, has announced an additional tour date for her previously announced 2010 national tour. The new stop will be on October 2 at the Tilles Center in Brookville, NY. The singer-actress will be making stops all over the country, from California to New York, to Hyannis Massachusetts.

The previous announced dates include:

April 24 in Jacksonville, FL at Metropolitan Park
May 4 in Boston, MA: Opening Night at Pops: 125th Pops Anniversary Celebration
May 5 in Boston, MA at Boston Pops Symphony Hall
May 6 in Boston, MA at Boston Pops Symphony Hall
June 24 in Philadelphia, PA at Mann Center
July 2 in Lenox, MA at Tanglewood
July 9 in San Francisco, CA at San Francisco Symphony
July 17 in Washington DC at Wolftrap
July 31 in Bethel, NY at Bethel Woods Center For The Arts
Aug. 1 in Hyannis, MA at Pops by the Sea
Nov. 5 in Denver, CO at Boettcher Concert Hall
Nov. 19 in Minneapolis, MN at Orchestra Hall

Idina Menzel won a Tony for Best Actress for her role as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the original production of 'Wicked' on Broadway (she originated the role in 2003 in San Francisco before Wicked's Broadway run). Prior to her appearance in 'Wicked', she originated the role of Maureen in 'Rent' on Broadway, and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. Following Wicked, Menzel appeared off-Broadway in the Public Theater's production of 'See What I Wanna See', for which she received Drama Desk Award and Drama League Award nominations. She also appeared Off-Broadway in 'The Wild Party'. Film credits include the role reprisal of Maureen in the film adaptation of 'Rent', the Oscar-nominated fable 'Enchanted', and Robert Towne's 'Ask The Dust'. She went on to reprise her role as Elphaba in the West End production of 'Wicked' at London's Apollo Victoria Theater in 2006. Menzel has released three solo albums, the latest of which is 'I Stand', produced by Glen Ballard. Menzel is scheduled for a spring guest star appearance on the TV series GLEE.
