Iconic Playwright Israel Horovitz Birthday Tribute Concludes With Marathon Performances 4/8-11

East 3RD Productions, one of New York's premier theater companies founded to empower artists to create multidisciplinary works that span social, cultural, and political lines, presents Barefoot Theatre Company's 70/70 Horovitz Project, a year long, worldwide event in celebration of the beloved playwright's 70th birthday, as a Horovitz Marathon April 8th through the 11th at New York City's famous Theatre Row located at 410 West 42nd Street in NYC.

This very important FREE event, celebrating one of the Theatre World's greatest and most prolific playwrights, will be held at The Studio Theatre within historical Theatre Row located at 410 W 42nd Street in New York City.  The marathon will start on Thursday, April 8th with the reading of Henry Lumper starting at 8pm.  It then continues on Friday, April 9th with the reading of two Horovitz plays, Race Play and The Primary English Class also starting at 8pm.  On Saturday, April 10th, the festival starts at Noon with a true marathon reading of seven (7) plays, finishing at approximately 10pm, and on Sunday, the 11th, the event wraps up with two readings, Today I am a Fountain Pen and Inconsolable at 3pm.

Horovitz plays have been translated and performed worldwide. His best known works include Line (now in its 36th year Off Broadway), The Indian Wants The Bronx, Rats, Morning, The Primary English Class, The Widow's Blind Date, Today I Am A Fountain Pen and Park Your Car In Harvard Yard, which Horovitz has adapted for a film starring Julianne Moore.  The world renowned playwright is planning on making an appearance during the marathon reading of his plays!
