IRTE, the Improvisational Repertory Theatre Ensemble, continues its third season of improvised shows with The Magic Zoo. Come see the group critics are calling "Completely unique" (Heather Boddy, THESPI-HONEST), "radical and theatrical fun!" (Imani Johnson, The High 5 Review), and "remarkable," (Lillian Rodriguez, Film Annex)!
The NYC-based ensemble of comedy performers returns with its own unique brand of original themed, character-driven improvisational shows performed in rep. July 13, IRTE opens its fourth show at The Producers Club, The Magic Zoo. You WILL learn! Hey kids! It's Sunday morning and the Magic Zoo is open for FUN! Tune in for all the improvised merriment as we learn about good citizenship, fitting in and the way life is supposed to be from Game Warden Bob and his Zoo Pals!
The Magic Zoo, directed by Marc Adam Smith (Former Artistic Director, Gotham City Improv; Manhattan Comedy School faculty), is a live improvised comedy spoofing beloved children's public television programs like The Magic Garden and The New Zoo Revue. IRTE's menagerie - led by artistic director Nannette Deasy - include Robert Baumgardner, Curt Dixon, Jamie Maloney and Marcia Sofley. For The Magic Zoo they will be joined by guest performers Evie Aronson (TruTV, HBO Films, Frigid Fest NY), Alena Acker (Mother Eve's Secret Garden of Sensual Sisterhood, Discovery ID), Jeffrey O'Leary (IRTE Ensemble 2013). The group's collective credits include off-Broadway theater, national tours and feature film.Videos
