ITN editor Martin Denton and a team of theater artists have worked together to curate this selection of 27 of the most inventive, interesting, and exciting new plays from the 17th annual New York International Fringe Festival.

Infallibility is a meta?theatrical exploration of faith, ambition, hope, and the power we entrust to leaders. Carlo, a young actor and priest-­?in-­?training, is in jail. After leaping at the chance to perform in Rome for Pope Stephen VI, Carlo found himself taking part in the infamous Cadaver Synod - the posthumous trial of former Pope (and current corpse) Formosus. Now, with only prison guards as an audience, the Patron Saint of Actors as a scene partner, and a miraculous store of props and masks, Carlo performs the story of his life and how he wound up in his current predicament; along the way, he may just find his purpose in life.
