Producers of the Broadway production Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill, which stars Tony Award-winner Audra McDonald as legendary jazz singer Billie Holiday, have announced that the show broke the Circle in the Square box office record the week ending September 21st, 2014. The production grossed $696,922 during that week which is more than any other production has grossed in one eight-performance week in the history of the theatre. It has already been previously reported that the musical play recouped its investment of $2.6 million as of the first week of August.
