Welcome to this week's edition of BroadwayWorld's exclusive WEEKLY GROSSES ANALYSIS - read on for all the weekly grosses statistics for the movers and shakers from the latest grosses, for the week ending 4/8/2018.

Disney Theatrical's new Broadway musical Frozen broke the house record at the St. James Theatre for the second week in a row for the week ending April 8 with a gross of $2,275,395.00 on eight performances.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child set a Broadway Box Office record in previews with $2,138,859 gross for the week ending April 8, 2018. Even with 300 seats at every performance selling for $40 or less, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at the Lyric Theatre became the top grossing play in Broadway history, selling $2,138,859 for the week ending April 8, 2018 (on a full 8-performance schedule). This shatters the previous record held by All the Way, which grossed $1,623,495 in June, 2014 at the Neil Simon Theatre.

For the week ending 4/8/18, Three Tall Women was up over $180,000 on the previous week, with a gross of $779,655.72, and playing to 100% capacity at the 787-seat Golden Theatre.

This week, 36 shows played on Broadway, with 327,949 tickets sold and a total gross of $42,596,197. The average ticket price was $129.89.

This was up the number of shows as last week and down 2 vs. the same week last year. Compared to last week, attendance was up 2.61%. Versus last year, attendance was up 5.38%. On the sales front, overall grosses were up 1.38% vs. last week and up 23.66% vs. this week last year. This week's average ticket price of $129.89 is down $-1.58 compared to last week and up $19.20 compared to last year.
