Welcome to this week's edition of BroadwayWorld's exclusive WEEKLY GROSSES ANALYSIS - read on for all the weekly grosses statistics for the movers and shakers from the latest grosses, for the week ending 4/1/2018.

This week, 35 shows played on Broadway, with 319,605 tickets sold and a total gross of $42,016,689. The average ticket price was $131.46.

In its first full week of performances since opening on Broadway on March 22, Disney Theatrical's new Broadway musical Frozen broke the house record at the St. James Theatre for the week ending April 1 with a gross of $2,246,997.50 on eight performances. This marks the first time a production has broken the eight-performance house record of $1,600,243.00 established by the smash hit The Producers over 14 years ago for the week ending January 4, 2004. Prior to last week, the only other production to break that record was Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas!, which set a new house record at the St. James with a gross of $1,645,221.00 for the week ending December 23, 2007, a week in which that production played 15 performances.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child grossed $1,589,033 for the six performance week ending April 1, 2018 at the Lyric Theatre. It's important to note that at every performance of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child there are 300 seats priced at $40 or less per part, with 150 of these seats priced at $20 per part.

This was up the number of shows as last week and up 1 vs. the same week last year. Compared to last week, attendance was up 9.13%. Versus last year, attendance was up 10.32%. On the sales front, overall grosses were up 18.64% vs. last week and up 29.47% vs. this week last year. This week's average ticket price of $131.46 is up $10.54 compared to last week and up $19.45 compared to last year.
