This week, THE BOOK OF MORMON, winner of nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, has broken the house record of Broadway’s Eugene O’Neill Theatre for the 23rd time. The show earned $1,374,002.90 for the week ending Sunday, December 4, in the 1,068-seat O’Neill, one of Broadway’s smallest theatres.

Also, Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway broke The Broadhurst Theatre box office record for the fifth time last week with a gross of $1,520,929. The show had most recently broken the Broadhurst’s record the week ending November 27 with a gross of $1,472,987.00

Previous members of the Broadhurst’s million dollar club are:
700 Sundays starring Billy Crystal (week ending 5/22/05): $1.061 million
Hamlet starring Jude Law week (week ending 12/6/09): $1.000 million
The Merchant of Venice starring Al Pacino (week ending 1/2/11): $1.175 million
