IN THE SPOTLIGHT SERIES: WELL-STRUNG Opens Their New Residency in Provincetown Tonight!

Walter McBride was given exclusive access to a rehearsal in New York and we have some wonderful pictures to share with you as we enter this 4th of July Weekend.

It's a pretty safe bet that everyone has now heard of the singing string quartet, Well-Strung this past week. Their new video, "Chelsea's Mom" (for Hillary Clinton) went viral a week ago, within 24 hours of posting. In a rare confluence of events, as the popular group gets ready to debut their new show, Hillary was in town for a fundraiser, and Well-Strung were invited and asked to sing their single. The rapport between the Democratic hopeful and the boys was instant and you could feel the energy in the air.

All of this in the midst of rehearsals for "Summer Lovin'", their new show directed by Richard Jay-Alexander and designed by Matt Berman. This is Well-Strung's fourth year in residency at Provincetown's Art House where they are produced by Mark Cortale.

Well-Strung has also become a Broadway Favorite and this season appeared in Broadway Backwards at the Martin Beck Theatre, where they performed a now equally well-known tribute to the blockbuster Disney film, FROZEN. The secret part of Well-Strung that few people know about is that in addition to being clasically trained, they've all done musical theatre.

Well-Strung's recent tour highlights include performing at this month's TrevorLIVE Gala in New York honoring Sir Ian McKellen, as well as sold-out shows at 54 Below in New York City and Feinstein's in San Francisco, and performing with Tony and Emmy Award Winner Kristin Chenoweth in her two sold-out concerts at Town Hall in Provincetown, MA last August. Well-Strung also performed in May 2014 at Life Ball in Vienna on the same bill as Ke$ha and in November they performed with opera star Deborah Voigt, Norm Lewis and Sierra Boggess to open the new Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center in Orlando. This past December they performed for three sold-out holiday shows with the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus in San Francisco for over 4,000 people.
