The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) is accepting submissions for its 26th Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place in New York City at New World Stages on October 23 and 24, 2014. Submission information and the online application are available at www.namt.org/festival. NAMT is looking for great new musicals that represent the exciting diversity and breadth of the future of musical theatre.

Any writer may apply, as long as the submission is endorsed by a NAMT member, another professional theatre organization, commercial producer or an agent.

Submission Deadlines: (postmark)

· January 14, 2014: Non-NAMT member professional theatre organizations and theatrical agents

· February 4, 2014: NAMT member theatres and Festival Alumni Writers

NAMT will host two Festival Submission Q&A sessions for any writers or producers interested in submitting shows. These sessions will be hosted by Festival Producing Director Branden Huldeen who will walk through the application process with the attendees and provide tips to a successful submission. To RSVP, e-mail Festival@namt.org with your name and your preferred session from the options below:
Monday, December 9, 11:30am-12:30pm at CAP21 (18 W. 18th Street, #502)
Friday, January 3, 5:30pm-6:30pm at ART/NY (520 8th Avenue, 3rd Floor)

NAMT will also host an online Q&A session on Tuesday, January 7 from 2pm-3pm (EST). Register online for his special webinar at www.namt.org/Festival.

The eight shows selected for the Festival will receive fully funded 45-minute professional presentations produced by NAMT for an industry-only audience of over 600 people. The writers will also each receive an honorarium for being selected for NAMT's Festival of New Musicals.

"We are very excited to continue our great track record of presenting exciting, inspiring, brilliant new musicals," said Festival Producing Director Branden Huldeen. "Our new musicals move on to delight and inspire audiences around the world thanks to the dedication of our Industry-only audience and our members. After 220 shows over 25 years, we have only just begun to ensure that there will be great new musicals entering the canon to be produced around the world."

NAMT's Festival of New Musicals is the cornerstone of NAMT's mission to nurture the creation, development and production of new musicals. NAMT's Festival brings theatre professionals from across the world together for an industry-only event to discover eight new musicals over two days. Since 1989, the Festival has presented 220 musicals by 420 writers, and 85% of these shows have found subsequent productions, tours and licensing agreements as a direct result of the Festival.

The FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS is funded entirely by contributions to the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, a not-for-profit organization, and is supported in part by a generous award from the National Endowment for the Arts and with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
