Tony Award-winning director Garry Hynes (THE BEAUTY QUEEN OF LEENANE) will take part in a public interview as part of an all-day IRISH THEATRE SYMPOSIUM -- a series of conversations featuring renowned Irish playwrights, artistic directors and actors on topics including the arts, education, funding, the creative economy, tourism, new writing and classic themes -- on Saturday, September 25 at Glucksman Ireland House, NYU (1 Washington Mews, on 5th Avenue, between West 8th Street and Washington Square North) in Manhattan.
Ms. Hynes, the first woman to receive a Tony Award for Direction, will be interviewed by journalist and playwright Belinda McKeon. The public interview will conclude a day-long symposium which features a diverse range of Irish academics, playwrights, directors and theatre industry professionals.
The Irish Theatre Symposium, presented by Glucksman Ireland House, NYU and The Irish Repertory Theatre and Origin Theater Company, runs Saturday September 25 from 10am-6.30pm at Glucksman Ireland House (1 Washington Mews on 5th Avenue, between West 8th Street and Washington Square North).
