Gay Bride of Frankenstein is a rock and roll fairy tale that follows four high school friends on one fateful Halloween night. A mystery is solved, a boy finds his best friend, and the girl gets the girl. A rock and roll love story about coming of age, coming out of the closet and coming back from the dead. The show features an original rock and roll score performed on stage by the band THE MONSTER MAKERS led by Billy Butler. "All you need is rock and roll band and a body of a virgin girl".

After GAY BRIDE was a thought at a post-show party, composer & rock musician Billy Butler & writer Dane Leeman decided to take on the 2008 RPM Challenge in Portsmouth, NH. The challenge was to write and record 10 songs in month of February. Instead of a concept album they chose to create a new rock and roll musical, THE GAY BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN. On Halloween in 2008 the show made its stage debut at the Player's Ring with a group of actor's & band within the show called the MONSTER MAKERS which featured Billy Butler & musicians from bands we now know as THE PRETTY RECKLESS & TIM McCOY and the Papercuts. The Original Cast Recording was created and the show soon transferred to NY as a selection of the 2009 NY Musical Theatre Festival. After an extension & sold out run the show then went back to NH for an additional Developmental run. The concert version of the show returned to NYC in 2012 at Joe's Pub with a second album released, now featuring many singers from the show whose own career's had grown and expanded to Broadway. The show was featured once again in NY at the iStar Theatre Lab & at the Davenport Theatre.
