Dreamgirls star Jennifer Hudson, who previously won the awards triple crown of the SAG, Golden Globe and Oscar, has also picked up a NAACP Image Award for her performance in the hit movie musical.

Hudson won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her acclaimed turn as Effie (also up for the same award was Anika Noni Rose, who plays Lorrell in Dreamgirls).  The soundtrack to Dreamgirls also won Outstanding Album.  The Pursuit of Happyness, however, was chosen over Dreamgirls as Outstanding Motion Picture.

Other winners of NAACP Image Awards included Chandra Wilson (Caroline, or Change), who won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for "Grey's Anatomy," and theatre and pop star Vanessa Williams (Into the Woods, Kiss of the Spider Woman), who was honored with the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series award for her work in "Ugly Betty."

The NAACP Image Awards, according to the organization's website, are "the nation's premier event to honor outstanding black actors, actresses, writers, producers and directors."
