The critically-acclaimed Houses on the Moon Theater Company, creates ground-breaking work for the stage created through partnership with marginalized communities (including migrant youth, LGBT refugees, and survivors of gun violence). Their work has been presented Off Broadway, across the U.S. and Latin America. This spring the critically-acclaimed theater company will host their fourth annual benefit, AMPLIFY 2016, Monday, April 18, 2016 at Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd Street from 6:30 - 9:30 PM.
The cocktail benefit will include: cocktails, hors oeuvres, dessert bar, live music performance by Juancho Herrera Trio, special Houses on the Moon performance and an award presentation to three passionate and philanthropic women.

Event professional and philanthropist; Ms. Welch's main areas of interest are urban core youth development, social justice, global poverty, the arts, and integrative health programs.

The Leyton Award, now in its third year of existence, is presented to an individual or organization who is a champion of the unheard voice. The award was named and endowed in memory of Mauricio Leyton, a dedicated member and dear friend of Houses on the Moon Theater Company, who passed away in 2013. Mr. Leyton's family and friends created a dedicated fund through Houses on the Moon to present a special award and donation to individuals and organizations that serve underserved populations across the New York City tri-state area.
