As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Nicole Scherzinger just made her West End stage debut as 'Grizabella' in Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking musical Cats, and according to a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Webber has plans to bring the show (and his new star) to Broadway. American recording artist, actress and television personality Nicole Scherzinger studied theatre and dance at Wright State University in Ohio. After auditioning for the TV show Popstars, she became a member of Eden's Crush, going on to tour America with the likes of *NSYNC and Jessica Simpson. Subsequently relocating to Los Angeles she successfully auditioned for the Pussycat Dolls. Their 2005 debut single 'Don't Cha' was Number One in nine countries, sold over 6 million copies worldwide and finished the year as one of the biggest-selling singles in America. This was followed by a string of further hits including 'Stickwitu', 'When I Grow Up', 'I Hate This Part and 'Jai Ho! (You Are My Destiny)', making them one of the most successful girl groups of all time, with seven Top Ten singles in the UK alone. Since the early days of the Dolls, Nicole has sold over 30 million records and played arenas all over the world.
In 2010 Nicole launched her solo career. Her debut album 'Killer Love' saw her working with the likes of producers RedOne, Jim Jonsin and Stargate, as well as collaborations with 50 Cent, Sting and Enrique Iglesias. A slot as X Factor judge soon followed; with her effervescent personality and sharp sense of humour, she fast became one of the show's most popular personalities. Nicole recently released her new album 'Big Fat Lie' through RCA records.
