Hopkins Hall Gallery at Ohio State University to Feature Work of First-Year Graduate Students, Begin. 1/20

Hopkins Hall Gallery opens in January with the work of first-year master of fine arts (MFA) students in an exhibition, In Conversation: First Year Graduate Students in the Department of Art. The exhibition opens Monday, January 20, and continues until Tuesday, February 18. An opening reception is planned Thursday, January 23, 4:30-5:30 pm at the gallery, located at 128 North Oval Mall.

The exhibition includes the work of students who will graduate from the Department of Art MFA program in 2016. Exhibiting artists include Lillianna Marie Baczeski (photography), Jonathan Capps (glass), Maria DiFranco (printmaking), Kyle Downs (sculpture), Brittany Helms (ceramics), Dan Jian (painting & drawing), Julie Rae Powers (photography), William Randall (art & technology), Boryana Ina Rusenova (painting & drawing), Jessica Tankersley (art & technology), Alana Thomas (painting & drawing), Blake Turner (art & technology), Adrian Waggoner (painting & drawing), and Nayeon Yang (sculpture). Hopkins Hall Gallery hosts a variety of faculty, student, departmental and specially curated exhibitions and programs in addition to gallery talks, events with visiting artists, fellows, and lecturers. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 11 am to 5 pm. Hopkins Hall Gallery is part of the Arts Initiative at Ohio State, which serves as the umbrella for multiple aspects of the arts on and off campus. The Arts Initiative also partners with state and national organizations to facilitate opportunities for faculty and students to perform and exhibit beyond the university community.
