Katie Holmes and partner Jeanne Yang had previously announced that they would be skipping Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, but that is not entirely true. They instead opted for a small, intimate, invite only preview of their Fall 2013 collection yesterday at the the New York Palace hotel.
The New York Times' Eric Wilson was one of the lucky few said Racked. Wilson reports that the labels classic shirtdresses are still practical, wearable, and "just darling." He also got the scoop on why their show was such a big Fashion Week secret. Yang explained to him, "We wanted to meet with a group of real journalists. You approach fashion with a cerebral voice."
About Holmes & Yang:
Top priorities for creating Holmes & Yang were supreme quality of fabrics, perfecting the fit, and attention to small details, which is evidenced in the luxurious and sophisticated one-of-a-kind pieces that will find a permanent home in every chic woman's closet.
