The York Theatre Company, in association with Whiskey Down Productions, will present the Off-Broadway premiere of That Time of the Year, beginning performances on Wednesday, November 29th at 8 PM with an opening night set for December 7th at 7 PM.
The show is a musical revue of original songs celebrating the holidays – Christmas, and Hanukkah– with book and lyrics by the 2006 Kleban Award winners Laurence Holzman & Felicia Needleman and music by Sanford Marc Cohen, Nicholas Levin, Donald Oliver, Kyle Rosen, Brad Ross, Mark Wherry and Wendy Wilf. The show is directed and choreographed by Annette Jolles. The creative team also includes: Annie Pasqua as musical director, James Morgan as set designer, Chris Robinson as lighting designer and Terese Wadden as costume designer.
That Time of Year "is a unique interfaith holiday celebration with songs that run the musical gamut from show tunes to rock, blues and jazz. The songs range from funny numbers highlighting the joys and anxieties of the holiday season to beautiful, touching ballads about the meaning behind the holidays."
The show will play a limited engagement beginning November 29th. Performances are Monday, Wednesday through Saturday evenings at 8 pm; Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm and Sunday evenings at 7:00 pm.
