Dreamgirls sensation Jennifer Hudson, has tapped her co-star Hinton Battle to choreograph and supply musical staging for her solo concert debut on Saturday, December 30 (10PM) at New York's hotspot Hammerstein Ballroom. Titled One Night Only: Dreamgirls, the concert will include nine songs from the film in addition to favorites from Hudson's appearances on TV's American Idol and a few surprises. It will be followed by a dance party with DJ Junior Vasquez, featuring remixes from the Dreamgirls soundtrack.

Though Hinton Battle's show business career started on Broadway where he was bestowed three Tony Awards (Sophisticated Ladies, Miss Saigon, The Tap Dance Kid), his co-starring role in the hit-film Dreamgirls rounds out his exemplary career as performer, director and choreographer for stage, screen and theatre.

This year alone, his credits range from his co-starring role as Wayne in Bill Condon's record-breaking film, Dreamgirls to Off-Broadway's acclaimed hit show, Evil Dead: The Musical, where he serves as co-director and choreographer. Having just finished choreographing last season's Universal Pictures/HBO movie musical Idlewild starring Outkast and Terrence Howard, the new year brings him together with Wynton Marsalis for The Bubby Bolden Story, a feature film about the untold story of the man who created jazz in America. His schedule continues with the stage musical Respect, a musical journey of women from the 1900s – 2007 as well as choreographing new ballets for the celebrated dance troupes Alvin Ailey II and The Philadanco Dance Company.
