Hilary Duff is teaming up with Broadway vet Sutton Foster for her return to the small screen.

According to Deadline, the former LIZZIE MCGUIRE star has signed on for SEX AND THE CITY creator Darren Star's upcoming TV Land pilot YOUNGER.

The project, based upon Pamela Redmond Satran's novel, follows "Liza (Foster), a 40-something woman who reinvents herself and starts living a double life; one as a suburban mom and another as a 29-year old working girl in the city, after her husband leaves her and her child goes to college. Duff will play Kelsey, a smart ambitious 20-something who welcomes Liza to the publishing firm, treats her as a contemporary and makes a concerted effort to integrate her into her social life, having no idea that Liza is a decade older."

Duff is best known for the title role of Disney Channel's teen comedy Lizzie McGuire. The actress reprised the role in The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003) and ventured into motion pictures with her early films Agent Cody Banks (2003), Cheaper by the Dozen (2003), A Cinderella Story (2004) and Cheaper by the Dozen 2 (2005). Most recently, she has performed in independent films and television dramas like Gossip Girl in addition to sharing production credits.

Foster is an award-winning actor, singer and dancer who has performed in 10 Broadway shows and originated roles in the Broadway productions of The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, Young Frankenstein, Shrek the Musical, and her Tony Award-winning performances in Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie. She was first seen on television on "Star Search" at age 15, and has more recently appeared in "Bunheads" (TV Critics' Choice Award nomination for "Best Actress in a Comedy Series"), "Psych", "Flight of the Conchords", "Law and Order SVU", "Royal Pains", and "Sesame Street". As a solo artist, Sutton has performed all over the country as well as internationally with her musical director Michael Rafter... featuring songs from her debut solo CD "Wish" as well as her follow up CD, "An Evening With Sutton Foster: Live at the Cafe Carlyle." She has graced the stages of Carnegie Hall, Feinstein's, Lincoln Center's American Songbook series, Joe's Pub and many others. In 2011 she received an Honorary Doctorate degree from Ball State University where she also is on faculty as a teacher and advisor to the Department of Theatre and Dance.
