When Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, and Royce Da 5'9" joined Joe Budden on his 2008 mixtape Halfway House, the chemistry on their collaborative track quickly transformed "Slaughterhouse" the song into Slaughterhouse the hip-hop supergroup. Reacting to past troubles with former labels, the artists initially skipped the traditional distribution route for their music and released some of their first tracks by leaking them on the internet. Among the tracks distributed in this fashion was "Move On," which recounts the group's backstory through music.

In the summer of 2009, Slaughterhouse recorded and released its self-titled debut on E! Music. Featuring "The One," "Microphone," and "Woodstock Hood Hop" (which didn't make the final cut due to sample clearance issues), the album sold 18,000 copies in its first week and has met with critical acclaim. AllMusic.com called the album "tough, cold, and relentless," featuring the veteran rappers "[trading] lines with old-school open mic hunger."

Slaughterhouse released an eponymous EP in February of this year, featuring four new tracks and two remixes of previous releases. After existing independent of a major label for several years, the outfit also signed to Eminem's powerhouse imprint Shady Records this past January. According to Budden, the group had been aiming to sign to the label since its inception. "Very early on, the four of us agreed that Shady would be the best place for the group to be," he said, "before our first album was finished." The group's hotly-anticipated label debut is forthcoming.

Seth MacFarlane, the Emmy-winning creator of Family Guy and American Dad, can now add a new accolade to his list of accomplishments: a Grammy nomination. With his debut album Music is Better Than Words (2011), MacFarlane brings his talents to the Great American Songbook, creating a disc that recently garnered a nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album.

Born in Kent, Connecticut, MacFarlane attended the Rhode Island School of Design. After graduating, he got a job working for Hanna-Barbera Productions (now Cartoon Network Studios) when a professor sent his thesis film, Life of Larry (a precursor to Family Guy) to Hanna-Barbera. In 1996 MacFarlane created Larry and Steve, the follow-up to his thesis film. It caught the attention of the executives at Fox, who originally offered him a deal to create featurettes to run between sketches on Mad TV. The deal fell apart, but Fox, not wanting to lose MacFarlane, gave him $50,000 to produce a partial pilot for a comedy series. He hand-drew the 15-minute presentation of Family Guy over the course of six months.

Fox Network picked up Family Guy, and it premiered after the Super Bowl on January 31, 1999. The show was moved, cancelled, and picked up on numerous occasions, but in 2002, Fox Network cancelled the show for good at the end of its third season. However, the exceptional sales of the Family Guy DVDs - combined with the high ratings of the show's reruns on Cartoon Network - soon convinced Fox to put it back into production for a fourth season in 2004. A 12-time Emmy Award nominee and three-time winner, Family Guy continues running today, along with American Dad, created by MacFarlane with Mike Barker and Matt Weitzman and premiered on Fox in 2005.

Tonight's performance will feature MacFarlane singing cuts from his album and other jazz standards, accompanied by a dynamite big band conducted by acclaimed composer and conductor Joel McNeely.

SOULFARM
Soulfarm was founded in Israel by Grammy Award-winning lead guitarist C. Lanzbom and guitarist and lead singer Noah Solomon Chase. The group's sound has been dubbed as New American music, featuring full melodic songwriting and progressive modern arrangements. Soulfarm's live shows are full of Mediterranean flavor with captivating guitar leads, dance rhythms, and strong percussion breaks.

Soulfarm's music incorporates a wide range of influences, from rock and Latin music to Hebrew and Celtic folk music. The group has recorded with many well-known musicians, including Perry Farrel and Dispatch, and has opened for Bruce Hornsby, Shawn Colvin, The Wailers, and George Clinton, to name a few. Soulfarm also regularly sells out national venues such as Whiskey-A-Go-Go, B.B. Kings Blues Club, the Hammerstein Ballroom, The Knitting Factory, and The Fox Theater. Through extensive tours of the U.S. and Europe, the group continues to gain great popularity. Monkey Dance, one of Soulfarm's latest albums, dropped in 2008.

MOSHAV BAND
Raised in Israel in Moshav Mevo Modiin, a musical village in the hills between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, the founding members of the Moshav Band Yehuda (vocals and percussion) and Duvid (vocals and guitar) have learned and played music together since childhood. Early in the group's career, American students traveling in Israel heard Moshav play and befriended the members of the band. Taken not only with the beauty of the group's music, but also with the band members' charismatic stage presence, the students went home and raised the money to bring Moshav to America for college tours in the late '90s.

By 2000, Moshav had relocated to Los Angeles. Continuously touring across the United States and the world, including festivals in Australia, Canada, and Europe, the band built a large following. After releasing and selling close to 50,000 of its self-produced albums, the band eventually caught the eye of producer Ron Aniello (Lifehouse, Guster, Barenaked Ladies). Together they released the album Misplaced in 2006 to highly favorable reviews. In 2010, Moshav teamed up again with Ron Aniello and Clif Norrell (R.E.M., Jeff Buckley, Sting) to create the group's latest album, Dancing in a Dangerous World.

WHO ARE THE KINSEY SICKS?

A Sensation! With a phenomenal performance record that includes an Off-Broadway show, an extended run in Vegas, two feature films, seven albums and appearances throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Europe and Australia, the Kinsey Sicks hardly need an introduction. For over 16 years America's Favorite Dragapella Beautyshop Quartet has served up a feast of music and comedy to audiences at performing arts centers, music venues and comedy festivals in every kind of town you can imagine, in over 40 states! Their award-winning a cappella singing, sharp satire and over-the-top drag have earned the Kinsey Sicks a diverse and devoted following.

Humble Beginnings. The Kinsey Sicks began in 1993 as a group of friends who went to a Bette Midler concert in San Francisco dressed as the Andrews Sisters. Assuming they'd be among many drag queens, they found themselves to be the only ones (other than Bette, of course). They were approached that night to perform at an upcoming event. Their reply - "we don't sing" - was quickly disproved when they realized that all of them had musical backgrounds. They began singing and harmonizing that night, and the seed for the Kinsey Sicks was planted.

Becoming a Phenomenon. In July 1994, the Kinsey Sicks drew a large and enthusiastic crowd at their first public performance on a street corner in San Francisco's Castro District. Since then, the Kinsey Sicks have produced and performed full-length theatrical productions around the country in such prestigious venues as the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, the Nordstrom Recital Hall in Seattle, the Broward Center in Ft. Lauderdale, the Hobby Center in Houston, the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen and the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. Their earlies shows, such as "Sicks Appeal," "Sicks-Tease," "The Balled Sopranos," "Motel Sicks: A Dragapella Summer Vacation," "Everything But the Kitsch 'n' Synch" and "GreatesTits," all premiered at San Francisco's New Conservatory Theatre Center. Their more recent musicals -- "I Wanna Be a Republican," "Condoleezzapalooza," "Oy Vey in a Manger," "Wake the F@#k Up America" and "Each Hit & I" have toured internationally and have drawn the attention and devotion of unexpectedly diverse audiences.

Off-Broadway and Las Vegas. In 2001, the girls produced and starred in the critically acclaimed Off-Broadway hit, "DRAGAPELLA! Starring the Kinsey Sicks" at New York's legendary Studio 54. That production received a nomination for a Lucille Lortel award (the Off-Broadway Tony) as Best Musical and a Drama Desk nomination for Best Lyrics. In 2006 the girls wowed audiences with a much- coveted extended run at the Las Vegas Hilton. The show was ranked by critics as one of the best shows in Vegas, and heralded by reviewers as "a feast for the eyes, the ears and the funny bone."

Recordings, TV and Print. The Kinsey Sicks have recorded six CDs: Dragapella, Boyz 2 Girlz, Sicks in the City, I Wanna Be a Republican, Oy Vey in a Manger: Christmas Carols and Other Jewish Music, Sicks! Sicks! Sicks! and their latest and most objectionable offering, Each Hit & I. They have been profiled on national television, including "20/20" and "CBS Early Show with Bryant Gumbel," and were the subjects of a lengthy cover feature in the arts section of the New York Times. Film. The Kinsey Sicks are the subjects of two feature films: a concert film, "I Wanna Be a Republican" and a behind-the-scenes documentary, "Almost Infamous," chronicling the adventure of the group's extended run at the Las Vegas Hilton.

The Boyz Behind the Girlz

When the Kinsey Sicks began in 1993, its founders were a group of refugees from successful careers as professionals and activists. Member Ben Schatz ("Rachel") is a Harvard-trained civil rights lawyer, former Director of the national Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, and one-time presidential advisor on HIV issues. Schatz created the first national AIDS legal project and authored Clinton's HIV policy during the 1992 presidential campaign. Irwin Keller ("Winnie") is a University of Chicago-trained lawyer and linguist and former director of the AIDS Legal Referral Panel of the San Francisco Bay Area. Keller authored Chicago's gay rights ordinance, passed into law in 1989. In 2004, the Kinsey Sicks were joined by actor/singer/designer Jeff Manabat, who is responsible for Trixie's inordinate glamour and soaring counter-tenor, as well as the entire group's hot couture. Beginning in October of 2008, the Kinsey Sicks are joined by the hilarious and talented Spencer Brown ("Trampolina"), a Kansas City-based actor and singer, already known for his drag character Daisy Buckët (pronounced, of course, "bouquet").
