The Rewind Show is a vision we have had for as long as we have been in the business of night clubs and event planning. We are tired of the same concept that every night-club in NYC has been stuck with over the years and think that it's time to change the way to party! As we all know nothing can compare to a live performance and therefore we have created the Rewind Show! We want to bring an experience like no other by combining the live music of the 80's Rock & Roll era along with the best DJ's spinning the present hits. Every Saturday night, the Highline Ballroom will operate as a high-end night club to let people experience the Rewind Show. (http://therewindshow.com/)

CHRISTY THOMPSON

Inspired by the rock vocals of artists like Blondie, Mick Jagger, Pat Benatar, and Kate Bush, New York-based artist Christy Thompson has truly found her own voice and created a unique sound. She released her first EP in late 2010 and is currently performing with her band in some of New York's best clubs, including Rockwood Music Hall, The Bitter End, Crash Mansion, Pianos, and the Highline Ballroom.

STORM GIANT

Combining a hard rock edge with a no-nonsense understanding of groove and rhythm, Storm Giant rips up the stage and blows up the house PA with sheer strength and infectious energy. Formed in 2010 when lyricist Sean Connors partnered with Elias Stampolis, Jose Somarriba and sister Verona (since replaced by Joe Connors), the band has a simple and unapologetic lust for life that reflects in its music.

LEONARDO ROMAN

Under the genre of Latin rock, Leonardo Roman's unique sound features Afro-Latin and Indian percussion, rock guitars, and electronic sampling. His music communicates the vibrancy, struggle, and resilience characteristic of both his native country, Colombia, and New York, the city where he has established his artistic identity. His latest release is Open Gates of Alegría (2011).

MISTER GIO

Mister Gio is a Brooklyn-based indie pop rock power band featuring the talents of Gio Venuto on vocals, Walter Ramin on guitar, Walter Curella on keyboards, Frank Iacono on bass, and Anthony Tanzi on drums. The group has performed at The Bitter End, the Highline Ballroom, and many other prominent New York City venues.

LAST STAND FOR LUCY

The sound of Last Stand for Lucy is complex, but the band's approach is simple: get out there and play rock 'n' roll! Following its first EP, Bastards of Gramercy (2010), the band recently released Dysthymia (2011), a tribute the melodic British goth rock of the '80s and to the grit found at the heart of modern American rock 'n' roll.

Mezzo-soprano Alicia Hall Moran brings diverse influences and passions together in a rich, quintessentially modern artistic brew. She is constantly balancing performances in the realms of musical theater (currently understudying Bess and Audra McDonald in George and Ira Gershwin's Porgy & Bess, directed by Diane Paulus), opera-cabaret (currently performing with the motown project at The Kitchen, Le Poisson Rouge, Regattabar, etc.), art performance (currently collaborating with visual artists such as Joan Jonas, Adam Pendleton, Simone Leigh, and Liz Magic Laser), and jazz (most frequently with husband and pianist Jason Moran), while consistently finding outlets for her other loves - dance (music for Bill T. Jones and Arnie Zane Dance Company's award-winning Chapel/Chapter) and writing (in her weekly classical music column Suite Sounds for the New York Amsterdam News).

Upholding the traditions of her great-great uncle Hall Johnson (legendary choral director, composer, and preserver of the Negro Spiritual) and her greatest teachers (Shirley Verrett, Adele Addison, Hilda Harris, David Jones, and Warren Wilson) without being tethered to the classical repertoire, Moran's performances transcend all expectations. Her singing and theatrical sensibilities lead purely into a sensual musical world where the lyricism of Marvin Gaye and the high drama of Puccini collide.

THIS SHOW WILL TAKE PLACE AT
TERMINAL 5 (610 W. 56th St.)

There's little, if any, denying that Mary J. Blige is one of the greatest singers of our time. The proof is in the consistent No. 1 albums and singles, multiple Grammy Awards and multi-platinum records, and almost 20 years of love from the public, critics, and fellow artists. Since her 1992 debut - the modern classic What's the 411 - all the way to 2005's stunning The Breakthrough, Blige has helped to redefine R&B, and more importantly, been an artist that uses her gift to lift spirits, touch lives, and bring her heart, soul, and truth to those who are willing to listen.

Blige's eighth studio album Growing Pains (2007) dropped on the heels of her best-selling anthology Reflections (2006). Her first CD of new material since The Breakthrough, the album debuted at No. 1, selling over an astonishing 700,000 copies its first week - setting a record at that time as the best opening week for a solo R&B female artist in SoundScan history. The album's single "Be Without You" also made chart history by holding down the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart for a record-breaking 16 straight weeks. Stronger With Each Tear, Blige's 2009 follow-up, fared similarly, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and reaching No. 1 on the R&B chart. The disc featured the singles "I Am," "The One," and "We Got Hood Love."

Now, Blige continues her legacy with her newest release, My Life II ... The Journey Continues (Act 1). Featuring "Someone to Love Me (Naked)" and "25/8," the album is set to drop on November 21st.

Wonderous Stories will celebrate the 40th anniversary of George Harrison's "Concert for Bangladesh" with an all-star big band performance of the album in its entirety. The show was performed three times previously at the famous B.B. King Blues Club in Times Square with capacity crowds. In those years special guests have included members and former members of the Alan Parsons Project, Vanilla Fudge, The Hooters, Zebra, Tower of Power, Ted Nugent, Dire Straits, and much more. We have also had people who were behind the scenes at the original 1971 Bangladesh show and special guest promoter Sid Bernstein (Beatles at Shea). Plans are already in the works to make this one the most memorable concerts of them all with very special guests to be announced and added to the show as we get closer. We already have many of the performers confirmed from the bands mentioned above and are ready to add some notable national performers! Sit back and enjoy the massive Wall of Sound as we present the "Concert for Bangladesh" plus extra songs performed by our guests who made them famous! Moneys from this show will be donated to the cancer society in the memory of George Harrison, who died of cancer in 2002.

Wonderous Stories has become the band that people say can play anything. They are no strangers to playing complete renditions of classic albums. The band consists of Kenny Forgione, Tommy Williams, Kevin McCann, Ricky Martinez, and Mark Bonder. They all sing and play multiple instruments. For three years in a row at B.B. King Blues Club they did a massive recreation of George Harrison's "Concert for Bangladesh." They have also done entire albums and album sides by The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Yes, Paul McCartney, and more.

A strange faith is brewing for these apocalyptic times. Post-fundamentalist and happy-crazy with a 35-voice choir and worshippers throughout the world, The Church of Earthalujah began in New York City in 2009. The church has cast the global warming devils from the cash machines of JP Morgan Chase and UBS - the Swiss bank that invests in the Koch brothers and climate change skepticism. These churchgoers believe that natural disasters are messages from a living thing and that we should be teaching each other to listen and pray. Earthalujah!

Since sidewalk preaching in Times Square in the '90s, Reverend Billy Talen has spent the last decade toggling between community activism and theatrical spectacle. The 35-voice Earthalujah Gospel Choir has grown up around him as the climate crisis has brought a crescendo to the "stop shopping" theme. The shopping that matters most now is dirty coal, mountaintop removal, fracking, and tar sands. Now, after films and records and world tours, the hope is that power-shopping Americans will be pulled from a deep consumer hypnosis. The hush that has settled over the American landscape, as leader after leader cannot raise an adequate voice, is answered by the preaching of tornados and fires and floods...
