Based on user demand, BWW is taking our commitment to arts education one step further with the launch of the BWW Student Center - High School Edition. This directory features upcoming show listings for more than 1500 high schools nationwide with more being added each week. Schools can register for 'enhanced' listings on the site - adding in photos, cast lists, videos, links and more. Productions that take advantage of this will receive highlights on our listing pages, extra editorial mentions and potential spotlight features.

And just like we do with our College Center, each week BWW will be selecting a high-school program and featuring it as our 'School in the Spotlight: High-School Edition'.

This week, BWW shines its spotlight on the Theatre Arts Department at Heritage High School in Littleton, Colorado! A nationally-recognized school, HHS boasts many accomplishments under its name, including being ranked as one of the top high schools in America by Newsweek Magazine and being named one of the top schools in the Denver area by 5280 Magazine.

Led by Miss Osatinksi (or "Miss O" as she's referred to by students) the Theatre Arts program at HHS serves as a comprehensive overview of the dramatic arts. The curriculum offers courses such as Introduction to Drama, Drama History, Stagecraft, Acting Study and British Literature as well as the opportunity to participate in productions hosted by the school's theatre company. Recent productions at HHS include 'Dirty Rotten Scoundrels', 'You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown', 'The Diary of Anne Frank', and 'Bye Bye Birdie' (check out photos of these shows here!). Recently on stage was the classical work 'Antigone' and up next is the winter musical production of 'Xanadu' which will run from February 23 to 25, 2012. HHS also offers a wide range of courses in Fine Arts. Stressing creativity, human expression, teamwork development, and achievement, the department of Fine Arts offers study opportunities in Band, Vocal Music and Orchestra, and Art. To learn more about Fine Arts at HHS, click here.

Congratulations to Miss O and everyone involved with the Theatre Arts at Heritage High School for earning this week's School in the Spotlight honor!
