Based on user demand, BWW is taking our commitment to arts education one step further with the launch of the BWW Student Center - High School Edition. This directory features upcoming show listings for more than 1500 high schools nationwide with more being added each week. Schools can register for 'enhanced' listings on the site - adding in photos, cast lists, videos, links and more. Productions that take advantage of this will receive highlights on our listing pages, extra editorial mentions and potential spotlight features.

And just like we do with our College Center, each week BWW will be selecting a high-school program and featuring it as our 'School in the Spotlight: High-School Edition'.

Today, we head to Floyds Knobs, Indiana, to meet this week's spotlight: Floyd Central High SchoolThe Theatre Department at Floyd Central High holds the distinction of being named one of the top five theatre programs in the U.S. by the Educational Theatre Association. Students involved in performing arts at Floyd Central are frequent participants in competitions at the national state with their submissions receiving numerous accolades and press mentions. The school's theatre department has also been invited on several occasions to represent their home state at The International Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland.

Under the tagline 'Serving up a Season of Memories and Magic', the 2011-2012 production season has been tackling ambitious works since it first opened in September with the comedy 'Crimes of the Heart'. Next came 'Fools' by Neil Simon, followed by 'A Christmas Carol: The Musical!', 'Ashes', 'E.A. Poe, Into the Mind of Madness' and most recently 'Urinetown'. Check out photos from all past productions here!

Beginning March 2, the musical 'Seussical' will play as part of the Main Stage Series in The Floyd Central Performing Arts Center. The year will round off with 'Celtic Dreams', an original work by Floyd's Director of Theatre Chris Bundy, as well as the musical 'The Last Five Years' and a 2012 Student Showcase.
