The Public Theater, Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, producers of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON are pleased to announce that Tony Award winning producer Norton Herrick as well as Universal Pictures Stage Productions have joined the producing team of the show. BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is playing at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 W. 45th Street) and officially opens on Wednesday, October 13, 2010.

Norton Herrick is Chairman of The Herrick Company, Inc., with income property transactions, "Green" Power Plants and hospitals totaling over $4 billion. Its Herrick Entertainment division, a motion picture and theatrical production and financing company's current line up includes the films Vanishing on 7th Street, a suspense-horror film starring Hayden Christensen, Thandie Newton and John Leguizamo, having its world premier at the Toronto Film Festival in September; and the 2009 winner of the Women Film Critics Circle award for best film, My One and Only, a witty, coming of age dramatic-comedy starring Renee Zellweger and Kevin Bacon.

Mr. Herrick has also produced several Tony award-winning Broadway shows, including Hair, Promises, Promises, Exit the King and also was a producer of 9 to 5, Desire Under the Elms, American Buffalo as well as the Las Vegas show, Hairspray at the Luxor Hotel, and the theater adaption of J.R.R. Mr. Herrick is a longtime supporter of progressive and humanitarian causes. He has served on the Boards of People for the American Way and Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mr. Herrick is also the recipient, along with President Ronald Reagan and Isaac Stern, of the Jerusalem 3000 Award, presented by Prime Minister Shimon Peres and most recently the recipient, along with Michael J. Fox and Billy Cypress, of the President's Medal from the University of Miami presented by its President, Donna Shalala.

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is produced by The Public Theater (Artistic Director Oskar Eustis; Executive Director Andrew D. Hamingson), Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Norton Herrick & Herrick Entertainment, Stewart Lane & Bonnie Comley, Susan Gallin/Mary Lu Roffe/Jennifer Manocherian, Universal Pictures Stage Productions, Nancy C. Paduano/Harold Thau and Toula C. Phillips. BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON is a co-production with Center Theatre Group and in association with Les Freres Corbusier.

This spring's biggest downtown hit was undoubtedly BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON. The New York Times and Rolling Stone called it "the season's best musical" and audiences flocked to The Public Theater-where iconic shows like A Chorus Line and Hair started out-to see what the daring young creative team Alex Timbers (writer/director) and Michael Friedman (composer/lyricist) had cooked up. Now, by populist demand, their bloody brilliant show is packing up its tight, tight jeans and is now on Broadway.

In BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON, rising star Benjamin Walker reprises his role as America's first political maverick. A.J. kicked British butt, shafted the Indians and smacked down the Spaniards all in the name of these United States-who cares if he didn't have permission? An exhilarating and white-knuckled look at one of our nation's founding rock stars,

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON recreates and reinvents the life of "Old Hickory," from his humble beginnings on the Tennessee frontier to his days as our seventh Commander-in-Chief. It also asks the question, is wanting to have a beer with someone reason enough to elect him? What if he's really, really hot?

BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON also stars Kristine Nielsen, James Barry, Darren Goldstein, Greg Hildreth, Jeff Hiller, Lucas Near-Verbrugghe, Cameron Ocasio, Bryce Pinkham, Nadia Quinn, Maria Elena Ramirez, Kate Cullen Roberts, Ben Steinfeld, and Emily Young.

The design team for BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON will again feature scenic design by Hewes Award winner Donyale Werle, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Bart Fasbender, and choreography by Danny Mefford.

Tickets are now available on Telecharge.com or by calling 212-239-6200. The show plays: Monday at 7, Tuesday at 7, Thursday at 7, Friday at 8, Saturday at 2 & 8, and Sunday at 2 and 7.

Following a sold-out run at Public LAB in 2009, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON returned to The Public for a full main stage production and opened to acclaimed reviews on April 6. It received an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, a Drama Desk Award for Best Book of a Musical and a Broadway.com Audience Award for Favorite Off-Broadway Musical. When the show closed on June 27 after three extensions, BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON was the second highest grossing show in The Public Theater's downtown history.

A complete original cast album from Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records, produced by Kurt Deutsch and Dean Sharenow, is now available. The album will include hits like "Populism, Yea, Yea," "Rock Star," "I'm Not That Guy," and "The Hunters of Kentucky."
