The Heights Players' 58th season continues in October with a psychological whodunit, presented just in time to get "Hollow"-ween (er, Halloween) spirits inspired. Agatha Christie's rarely performed play, The Hollow, involves some of the most interesting and eccentric characters that Christie ever created and a tale about the dangers of obsession and hero worship.
Set in 1948, the play revolves around a group of guests who are spending the weekend at the Hollow, the wealthy English country estate owned by Sir Henry and Lucy Angkatell. Immediately a complex web of relationships is revealed as the guests gather. Included among these guests are John Cristow, a famous London doctor, and his shy, self-effacing wife Gerda. Also present are relatives of The Angkatells: their young cousin Midge Harvey, who is in love with ... her second cousin Edward Angkatell ... who is in turn in love with another distant relative, Henrietta Angkatell, a famous sculptress. As the complex web expands, it is revealed that Henrietta is John Cristow's mistress. To further complicate matters, Cristow's former fiancée, movie star Veronica Cray, shows up uninvited at the Angkatells' dinner party and rekindles her affair with John.Videos
