Heidi Gardner, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Alison Fraser and More to Star in Cape Playhouse's 2019 Season

Today The Cape Playhouse announced principal casting for the theatre's historic 93rd season, which includes an impressive list of Broadway and television stars.

Saturday Night Live's Heidi Gardner will make her Cape Playhouse debut in Noises Off playing August 7-17th. She is joined by a company featuring Jennifer Cody (Broadway: Shrek the Musical, The Pajama Game, Urinetown) as Dotty, Peter Bradbury (Broadway: The Ferryman, Travesties, Farinelli and the King) as Lloyd, and Bill Buell (Broadway: Noises Off, Ink, Urinetown) as Sheldon. Jeffry Denman (Broadway: The Producers, Cats) will direct.

Kicking off the 2019 season is Oscar Wilde's comedic masterpiece, The Importance of Being Earnest, playing June 12-22. Directed by Matt Lenz (Broadway: Hairspray, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory), the company includes Dan Amboyer (TV: "Younger", "William & Catherine") as Jack, Jason Gotay (Broadway: Bring It On the Musical, Spider-man: Turn Off the Dark) as Algernon, Tony Award nominee Isabel Keating (Broadway: The Boy From Oz, Wicked, It's Only a Play), and Edward Hibbert (TV: "Frasier", Broadway: Something Rotten!, The Drowsy Chaperone, Curtains) as Lady Bracknell.

Little Shop of Horrors, a Playhouse premier, playing June 26 - July 6, with direction by Producing Artistic Director, Michael Rader (Tour: A Christmas Story, Cirque du Soleil) and choreography by Shea Sullivan (Off-Broadway: Pageant) will include Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Broadway: Tuck Everlasting, Newsies the Musical, Mary Poppins) as Seymour, Lauren Zakrin (Broadway: Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, Rock of Ages) as Audrey, Miles Jacoby (Broadway: The Book of Mormon) as Orin, Stephen Berger (Broadway: Kinky Boots, Pajama Game, Into the Woods) as Mushnik, and Rema Webb (Broadway: The Lion King, The Book of Mormon, The Color Purple) as the blood-thirsty plant, Audrey II.

Tony nominee Hunter Foster (Broadway: Little Shop of Horrors, Bridges of Madison County) will direct the Academy, Grammy, and Olivier Award winning musical smash hit, Once, playing July 10-20th. The company will include Barry DeBois (Tour: Once) as Guy, Elizabeth Nestlerode (Off-Broadway: The Other Josh Cohen) as Girl, Matt Wolpe (Broadway: Finding Neverland, Once) as Billy, Zach Spoud (Off-Broadway: The Other Josh Cohen) as Svec, Ben Magnuson (Broadway: Once, Sweeney Todd) and Lisa Helmi Johanson (Tours: Avenue Q, Into The Woods) as Reza.

Joyce Chittick (Broadway: Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Anything Goes, Cabaret) will direct A Chorus Line which runs July 24-August 3, joined by choreographer Rick Faugno (Broadway: Kiss Me Kate, On the Twentieth Century). The famed dancing company will include Sara Esty (Broadway: An American in Paris) as Cassie, Tracy Jai Edwards (Broadway: Legally Blonde, Hairspray) as Sheila, Darien Crago (Broadway: Holiday Inn)) as Kristine, and Kim McClay (Tour: A Chorus Line) as Maggie, with Jeffrey Schecter (Broadway: Fiddler on the Roof, Anything Goes, A Chorus Line) as Zach.

Tony nominee Marcia Milgrom Dodge (Broadway: Ragtime, High Society, Seussical) directs the season finale, the thriller-comedy Deathtrap, running August 21-August 31. Robert Petkoff (Broadway: Spamalot, Anything Goes, All The Way) will play Sidney, with Robbie Simpson (TV: "The Path", Off-Broadway: Afterglow) as Clifford, Susan Wands (Broadway: Coastal Disturbances) as Myra, David Shih as Porter, and two-time Tony Nominee Alison Fraser (Broadway: Falsettos, The Secret Garden, Romance/Romance) as Helga.

Additional casting will be announced at a later date.
