Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre tackles Shakespeare's 'problem play,' All's Well that Ends Well, in New York City in December 2018.

After successful runs of A Taste of Shakespeare and Mary Zimmerman's The Secret in the Wings, Hedgepig returns with a fiercely feminist take on Shakespeare's comedy, All's Well that Ends Well.

Director, Emily Lyon, says, "All's Well that Ends Well is a comedy with a question mark. The world we're living in has a lot of question marks right now, and I think we're really hoping for a comedy, so it feels like the right time and environment for this play...It's a story about [Helena] finding herself and finding her power. I think we need a play where [women] find their own strength and get to claim it."

"Our remedies oft in ourselves do lie." -All's Well that Ends Well

Hedgepig's ensemble of actors are the foundation of the cast with Sara Hymes* (Ensemble Studio Theatre, American Shakespeare Center) as Helena; Gregory Jon Phelps* as Parolles (American Shakespeare Center); Andy Baldeschwiler* (Utah Shakespeare, Gingold Theatrical Group) as Lafeu; Basil Rodericks* (Negro Ensemble Theatre, American Globe) as King of France, Desiree Baxter* as the Countess; Jory Murphy (New York Deaf Theater, Asolo Rep) as Captain Dumaine; and Thomas Valdez (Alley Theatre) as Second Lord. Guest artists includes Martin Lewis* as Bertram, Elizabeth Roberts as the Widow, and Kariana Sanchez as Diana.

The production team includes Emily Lyon (director) Mary Candler (producer), Anna Driftmier (scenic & property designer), Charlotte McPherson (lighting designer), Carsen Joenk (sound designer), Jamie Gross (costume designer), Jessica Fornear (stage manager), Amanda Browne (assistant stage manager), Danielle Cohn (assistant director), and Andrew Hutcheson (text coach).
