Harrison Chad, star of Tony Kushner's Caroline, or Change, and the Nick Jr. TV show "Dora The Explorer," is set to play Martin Fiorelli in the upcoming production of The Family Fiorelli, as part of The New York Musical Theatre Festival.
Harrison performed the entire run, as Noah Gellman, in Tony Kushner's critically acclaimed Caroline, or Change, playing the lead opposite Tonya Pinkins, directed by George C. Wolfe. He is now set to tackle the role of Martin Fiorelli, a 14- year-old karate kid who sets out to get the girl, despite his insecurities from a mild case of cerebral palsy.
"The Family Fiorelli is the story of a wine-making family struggling to keep their vineyard afloat as they are each struck with personal crises that result in complicated, funny and ultimately cathartic ends. A cast of ten is set to bring the vibrant pop/rock score, with music by Alastair William King and book and lyrics by Fred Anthony Marco to rollicking Italian-American life. Robert Bartley directs," describe press notes.
Harrison's other Broadway credits included starring in Les Miseables as Gavroche, in Disney's Beauty and the Beast as Chip and also appeared in the Tony nominated musical Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby. He is also a member of the Broadway Kids.
