Today Harlem United officially launched a year-long celebration of the community-based organization's three decades of impact on health and homelessness in Harlem and across the nation. Harlem United kicked off its anniversary with a new webpage featuring the campaign tagline "30 Years Strong", along with the debut of its 30th Anniversary Campaign video, social media push and multimedia history timeline.
Funds raised from the 30th Anniversary Campaign and 2018 Boulevard Bash Gala, scheduled for October 24, 2018, will provide general operating support, and allow Harlem United to renovate the kitchen at the Willis Green Jr. Community Health Center (123-125 W 124th Street), as the organization expands its vocational education program to include a culinary-arts job training initiative, and continues to provide hot meals to its low-income, HIV-positive clients.
Jacquelyn Kilmer, Harlem United's CEO, is looking forward to celebrating with clients, staff, and supporters of Harlem United, the legacy of the organization's transformative work. "For 30 years, Harlem United has been at the forefront of caring for communities most in need-for individuals and families at risk or affected by HIV, homelessness, addiction, and mental illness. Our 30th Anniversary celebrates this legacy, the thousands of lives we've touched and the thousands we will be able to transform with expanded services designed to give people the tools needed to flourish and live their best life!"
The 30th Anniversary Campaign highlights three decades of Harlem United's impact and commitment to quality comprehensive healthcare for underserved communities in Harlem and beyond.
