This family friendly concert makes music come alive for children of all ages, as they take a musical journey through the magical world of childhood and find the Boogie uptown at The Gatehouse! Led by singer-songwriter and NYC public school teaching artist
Shawana Kemp and guitarist John Heagle, Shine and The Moonbeams leads an imaginative musical romp through classic soul, jazz, and hip hop-inspired songs designed to capture the sweetness, uncertainty, and simplicity of youth. Kids are invited to take part during the performance -- stomping feet, clapping hands and singing along--and are encouraged to bring noisemakers to play alongside the band.
