A fundraiser for Williamsburg! The Musical - entitled "A Roast/Toast to the 'Burg" - will be held on Monday, July 9th 6PM - 9PM at Laila Lounge.
The event will be hosted by Jay Bakker of the Revolution Church and the Sundance Channel's "One Punk Under God." "We're throwing a splashy Fundraiser in the 'burg featuring: song teasers from Williamsburg! The Musical, live music, comedy, drink specials, finger foods and burg-a-licious raffles. Come help us raise funds to help our production, which will premiere in the 11th Annual New York International Fringe Festival this August," state press materials.
Scheduled to appear are cabaret star Mary Cleere Haran, Erin and Her Cello, Sweet Soubrette on the ukelele, stand-up comic Lucas Held, singer Tarina Szemzo with composer Rob Baumgartner, Theo Eastwind, Brooke Fox, and members of the cast of Williamsburg! The Musical, who will perform original songs from the show. Catering is by Amuse Bouche.
"Created and written by Nicola Barber, Will Brumley, Brooke Fox, and Kurt Gellersted, Williamsburg! The Musical is a pop/rock parody of Brooklyn's hipster 'hood that follows the unlikely love story between a neurotic and suicidal hipster and a Hasidic Jew."
