Playwright and actor, Brian Hampton's, cautionary one-act play, "Gossip," is now available for purchase and production through Pioneer Drama Service.
"Gossip" is the story of a group of high school theatre students who befriend a charming yet sinister new student named Gossip. She immediately makes herself right at home as she secretly manipulates and twists the truth to get what she wants. But, as her new friends begin to figure it all out, they turn on her as ruthlessly as she went after them, leading to a surprisingly twisted ending.
"Gossip" made its world premiere at William Byrd High School in Vinton, VA and received its Off-Off Broadway premiere in NYC's "The Puzzle," an annual theatre festival at the historic Marble Collegiate Church.
"It's a twisted, cautionary tale about the effects of Gossip," says Hampton who hopes the piece will change how people view and handle the subject matter. "It's written about teenagers, but gossip affects all ages in any group of people. I'm hoping this play will help people understand gossip and expose it for what it really is."
A NYC playwright and actor, Brian Hampton's other work includes "The Jungle Fun Room" (New World Stages, FringeNYC) and "Checking In," (Actors Guild of Lexington, June Havoc MITF) both of which he wrote and acted in.
