Cabaret star and songwriter Ann Hampton Callaway take center stage in a performance to benefit Off-Broadway's esteemed Classic Stage Company in a special evening at Café Deville (103 Third Avenue at 13th Street) on Tuesday, June 28th.

Guests will enjoy a private pre-show event at Kiehl's from 7-8 PM, and Moet & Chandon champagne and dessert at Cafe Deville from 8-8:30 PM; Callaway's performance will begin at 8:30 PM.

Callaway's far-reaching talents have made her equally at home in the worlds of jazz, pop and cabaret as well as on stage, in the recording studio and on TV. Callaway has recorded over 40 CD's as a soloist and guest artist combined. On April 25th she received two MAC Awards for her newest CD, Slow, as Best Recording of the Year, and for "My Answered Prayer", which was named Song of the Year.

As one of the leading interpreters of the Great American Songbook, Callaway was the first person granted permission by Cole Porter's estate to write music for a previously -unrecorded Porter lyric, "I Gaze In Your Eyes." In 2000, she garnered a Tony Award nomination for "Best Featured Actress in a Musical" for the Broadway hit Swing!. She recently made her screen debut playing Mrs. White in the upcoming independent film Sky King and is preparing to host a new TV series, soon to be announced; her husky voice might be best known to viewers of "The Nanny;" for which she sang the opening theme music.  The New York Times has declared that "no contemporary singer matches Ms. Callaway."  Her new album Slow showcases her "keen compositional chops and equally impressive lyrical sensibilities."
