The OBIE award-winning HERE Arts Center will host the annual Downtown Arts Poker Tournament, Monday, June 4 at 7:00 PM. All proceeds from the tournament, co-sponsored by Tribeca's Bubble Lounge (228 West Broadway) as part of their "Salon des Arts du Lundi," will benefit HERE Arts Center.
According to press notes, participants will be get a shot at winning prizes including, "a personal appearance by renowned puppeteer
Basil Twist, Broadway tickets, a gift certificate to Bubble Lounge, family/dual memberships to MOMA, gift bags and a surprise grand prize." Among those expecting to play at this year's tournament are HERE Artistic Director Kristin Marting, Soho Think Tank's Robert Lyons, Clubbed Thumb's Meg McCary, New Georges' Susan Bernfield, Target Margin's David Herskovits, Soho Rep's Sarah Benson and P.S. 122's
Vallejo Gantner, and many others.
