The new performance piece InsideOut, created by Jason Pizzarello and Aaron Rhyne, with text by Pizzarello and direction by Rhyne, will be seen at HERE Arts Center (145 6th Ave. between Spring and Dominick Streets) from February 23rd through March 19th.
The show "is a theatre/video hybrid performance piece where actors, cows,
cameras, and projections interact equally to create a piece that
questions identity, revenge, hell, and beef in America," according to press notes. "InsideOut
is the story of an ordinary man who wakes up trapped. We struggle with
Harold as he attempts to make sense of his new world, who he is, and
why he's inside…"
Produced by Live Project, InsideOut will feature video by Linsey Bostwick and Rhyne industrial designs by Daniel LiCalzi, music and sound by Phil Christensen, and lighting design by Erich Bussing. Maria Teresa Creasey, Maria McConville, Graham Skipper, and Steven Strafford will be featured in the show.
Founded in 2002, Live Project strives to create new works that focus on combining
various art forms to tell stories from a unique and fresh perspective.
Their work uses every resource possible to create an absurd theatrical
spectacle to infiltrate the audience with reaction, emotion and response. Live Project's past productions include Brooke Berman's Playing
House, Jason Pizzarello's Glued to Grammy and A Tambourine
for Two, an off-beat sketch comedy show which can be seen in venues
throughout New York City.
This
production is being presented through HERE's Supported Artist
Program, which provides artists with subsidized space and equipment,
as well as technical and administrative support.
The show will play Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7pm and Sundays at 4pm. For tickets, visit www.here.org, www.smartix.com, or www.liveproject.org, or call 212.868.4444.
