The list of accolades and honors bestowed upon Lin-Manuel Miranda since his Broadway smash HAMILTON began previewing at The Public Theater would be enough to fill anyone's lifetime.
Prestigious awards like the Pulitzer Prize, Grammy Award and MacArthur Fellowship have been matched by pop culture recognition like composing music for the new "Star Wars" film and being cast as Bert in the upcoming new "Mary Poppins" movie.
The latest iconic achievement by Miranda is that his photo appears on the cover of the latest issue of Rolling Stone Magazine, an astounding recognition for a musical theatre writer and further proof of how HAMILTON has been accepted outside the world of Broadway.

"I hoped the hip-hop community would embrace the show," Miranda says in the issue's interview. "Pretty much all of my other dreams had already come true on the last show. With IN THE HEIGHTS, I went from being a substitute teacher to being a writer, from not having a career in this world to having one. I don't think anything will ever touch that. But the hip-hop world and the Broadway world really didn't know each other or meet, and for the most part, the hip-hop community missed the show."
