HAMILTON's Lin-Manuel Miranda Bans Madonna from Backstage Due to Her Texting During Performance

HAMILTON creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda took to Twitter to reveal that for the first time, he requested that a celebrity in the audience of the hit off-Broadway musical be banned from a backstage visit. According to Deadline, the A-lister in question at Saturday night's performance was none other than Madonna!

Tweeted Miranda: "Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou" The tweet was later deleted.

Madonna is just one of many celebrities who have managed to secure seats to the hot, sold-out original musical now playing at The Public Theater. Hamilton will be heading to Broadway this summer at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. The show will start previews on July 13th and will open on August 6th. Tickets are now on sale.

The world premiere production of Hamilton, inspired by the book "Alexander Hamilton" by Ron Chernow, with book, music, and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and directed by Thomas Kail opened February 17, 2015 at the Public Theater. The show is set to run through May 3rd at the Public Theater.
