New York's Public Theater (Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director) and Joey Parnes have announced that HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical will once again rock Broadway this evening, following a one-day shuttering this past Saturday due to Hurricane Irene. Tonight's 7:00 PM performance will also mark the national tour's 300th performance. The Tony Award-winning revival of HAIR kicked of its first national tour at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC on October 28, 2010 (following a preview engagement in New Haven, CT) and played 20 cities around the country before heading back to Broadway for a limited "Summer of Love" run at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). Following this Broadway engagement, which ends on Saturday, September 10, the cast heads back out on tour. For a full list of touring cities, visit www.HairOnTour.com.

Producers also announced today that Kacie Sheik (Jeanie), who has been with HAIR since it began as a 40th Anniversary concert in 2007, along with tribe members Arbender Robinson and Cailan Rose will all play their final performances with the show when it ends its Broadway run on September 10th. HAIR will introduce Aleque Reid as Jeanie, Max Kumangai and Anne Markt into the tribe when it resumes its national tour at Dallas's AT&T Performing Arts Center on September 20th.

"Kacie Sheik has been one of the beautiful angels of HAIR for four years, since the 40th anniversary concert at the Delacorte in the fall of 2007. We thank her for all she has given us, wish her peace and love in her future, and welcome our new ‘Slum goddess of the lower east side,' the remarkable Aleque Reid," Eustis said.
