Guttenberg Meets Gutenberg! The Musical! with Online Video

A new online video feature, created by film actor Steve Guttenberg, celebrates the hit Off-Broadway musical Gutenberg! The Musical!
"Gutenberg! The Musical!—the critically acclaimed off-Broadway comedy and Lortel Nominee for Outstanding Musical—has nothing to do with famed actor Steve Guttenberg," according to production notes. "Despite full houses and glowing word of mouth, the majority of potential ticket buyers have been confused about this, to such an extent that the production has just posted closing notices."
"But when Steve Guttenberg saw the show (thinking it was about him) he thought it was the most brilliant thing he'd seen on stage. When he heard that the production might be forced to close, he began a publicity campaign to keep it alive—by dispelling the myth that this show was about him. Working with Gutenberg's authors, Steve Guttenberg created a YouTube video, which has become an instant internet-comedy phenomenon, drawing thousands of hits despite being posted just a few days ago—and YouTube users are calling for it to mark the revival of his film career. Mr. Guttenberg also mounted a radio campaign, including appearances to praise the show on WOR Radio, Envision and the Joan Hamburg Show."

Directed by Obie Award-winner Alex Timbers, Gutenberg! The Musical! was recently nominated for the Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Musical, and currently stars Darren Goldstein as "Doug Simon" and David Turner as "Bud Davenport."
The performance schedule for Gutenberg! The Musical! is as follows: Tuesday through Friday at 8:00 P.M., Saturday at 7:00 and 10:00 P.M., and Sunday at 3:00 and 7:00 P.M. through Sunday, June 3.
