Gump's San Francisco is pleased to announce Kristen Olson as a featured new artist. Kristen is known for her outstanding California landscape oil paintings. Kristen has created a distinct American Impressionist style. Full of vibrant yet sensitive colors and expressive brushstrokes, they invite the viewer in, sharing a warm and fresh perspective on beloved California scenes.

Kristen's grandmother was a painter, who introduced her to art at an early age. She soon discovered that painting and drawing was her passion. Although watercolor was the medium she learned first, Kristen has embraced oil as her chosen means of expression. Kristen paints both from her studio in Palo Alto, CA and on location primarily in the western US. She is always reaching for new heights with her painting and teaching skills. Internationally recognized, Kristen's award winning artwork appears in both private and public collections including President Obama's White House Collection.

Kristen is a member of The California Arts Club, Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Peninsula Outdoor Painters and The Association of Hawaii Artists. Kristen's training includes a BA from The University of Maryland, College Park, The Art Students League, New York, California Art Institute and Otis Parsons, Los Angeles. She has also studied with master painters; Daniel Greene, Neil Boyle, Ned Mueller, Donald Putnam, Marilyn Simandle, and Rose Frantzen.

ABOUT GUMP'S
Gump's devotion to exquisite craftsmanship, international designers and artisans remains just as strong today as it did 150 years ago. In 1861, the Gump brothers, Solomon and Gustav, graced San Francisco with their mirror and frame shop. Newly minted millionaires from the California Gold Rush showed an interest in the shop and the brothers expanded their collection of old world art and new world design. S & G Gump was born-and the tradition of excellence continues today. http://www.gumps.com
