Monday, July 4, is the closing day of the popular loan exhibition Guitar Heroes: Legendary Craftsmen from Italy to New York at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This unprecedented exhibition of around 90 musical instruments focuses on the work of three modern-day master craftsmen-John D'Angelico, James D'Aquisto, and John Monteleone-whose instruments have been sought after by many of the most important guitarists of the last century. Many of the masterpieces on view are or have been owned by renowned artists including Chet Atkins, George Benson, Paul Simon, Steve Miller, Mark Knopfler, and Grant Green.
The Guitar Heroes iPhone App, a dynamic multimedia guide to the exhibition, can be downloaded free from iTunes or rented in the Museum's galleries.
In conjunction with the exhibition, the Museum will present a concert featuring Steve Miller on June 30 at 7 p.m. Tickets at 212-570-3949.
