Guare, Mamet Plays Featured in Atlantic's Ten by Twenty

In honor of it's 20th Anniversary season, Atlantic Theater Company has announced Ten By Twenty, a one-act festival of twenty ten-minute plays commissioned by notable playwrights whose work has been produced at the theater over the past two decades. Ten By Twenty will reunite many of Atlantic's ensemble of actors and directors to inaugurate the company's brand new state-of-the art Atlantic Stage Two.

The 99-seat Atlantic Stage Two theater at 330 West 16th Street will house two productions of new works each season and serve as a home theater for the Atlantic Theater Company Acting School.

Ten By Twenty will feature new works by Hilary Bell, Jez Butterworth, Kia Corthron, Tom Donaghy, John Guare, Peter Hedges, Kevin Heelan, Tina Howe, Rolin Jones, Howard Korder, Quincy Long, Craig Lucas, David Mamet, Joe Penhall, David Pittu, David Rabe, Keith Reddin, Edwin Sanchez, Jeff Whitty and Bill Wrubel.

Featured actors will include Kristen Johnston, Ted Danson, Carolyn McCormick, Ted Danson, Steven Skybell, John Benjamin Hickey, Jan Maxwell and Kathyrn Erbe, as well as Jen Albano, Peter Bartlett, Kate Blumberg, Patrick Breen, Brennan Brown, Ronnie Butler, Matt Dawson, Donna Duplantier, Alex Draper, Mike Doyle, Jim Frangione, Linda Gehringer, Zabryna Guevara, Steven Hawley, Peter Jacobson, Jordan Lage, Roberta Maxwell, Peter Maloney, Christian Parker, Emily Peck, Susan Pourfar, David Pittu, Jonathan Rossetti, Christa Scott-Reed, Patrick Taylor, Ray Anthony Thomas and Mark Webber with direction by Robert Bella, Carl Forsman, Jackson Gay, Peter Hedges, Hilary Hinckle, Karen Kohlhaas, Dave Mowers, Christian Parker and Neil Pepe.

Ten By Twenty will run over three consecutive weeks beginning Wednesday, June 14th through Saturday, July 1st:

Atlantic Theater Company "is the award winning Off-Broadway theater dedicated to producing great plays simply and truthfully utilizing an artistic ensemble. Atlantic is currently presenting the world premiere of the musical Spring Awakening, directed by Michael Mayer and featuring music by Duncan Sheik and book and lyrics by Steven Sater, which will officially open Off-Broadway on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at the Atlantic Main Stage (336 West 20th Street).

This season, Atlantic was awarded the 2006 Lucille Lortel Prize for Outstanding Body of Work. The company's critically acclaimed limited engagement production of Martin McDonagh's The Lieutenant Of Inishmore, directed by Wilson Milam, transferred to Broadway's Lyceum Theatre in April and has been nominated for five 2006 Tony Awards® including Best Play.
